Galactic Computing is a leading provider of virtualized storage
systems, high performance computing, enterprise server and system
management solutions. Founded in Silicon Valley by a team of
former Cray Research scientists in 1999, Galactic has achieved
a number of historical milestones in its brief history.
2001 - Galactic developed its first generation blade server
and deployed it at Hong Kong Telecom (now PCCW).
2002 每 Galactic migrated its research and development and operations
to China
2004 每 Galactic acquired technologies from a storage company
in US
2004 每 Galactic successfully launched a 1.5 Teraflop, Intel
Xeon-based High Performance Computing System (HPC). It was rated
#1 in the Chinese Bio-medical research sector.
2005 每 Galactic's HPC system was rated #100 in the Top500.org
ranking. It was rated the most efficient system on the Intel
Xeon architecture.
2006 每 Galactic's HPC system was rated #11 in the Chinese HPC
Top 100 ranking. Again, it was also rated the most efficient
system on the Intel architecture.
To date, Galactic has many patents to its' credit, ranging from
virtualization software to compact, modular server designs that
provide customers with an affordable, flexible and scalable
technology platform. Our customers have leveraged Galactic*s
HPC and storage platforms in biomedical research, protein "folding"
analysis, weather forecasting, video surveillance, and IPTV,
just to name a few.
