◆ Fibre
Channel, iSCSI, InfiniBand, SAS and NAS
In real production environments, different servers require
different connections for storage access. VSTOR supports
Fibre Channel, iSCSI, InfiniBand, SAS and NAS connections
allowing total flexibility in access.
Depending on the work load, some servers may need to access
storage with high performance InfiniBand, SAS or Fibre
Channel connections. Less intensive server work loads
can be attached via iSCSI or NAS, without any additional
work by the system administrator.
◆ Business
Continuity and Disaster Recovery
VSTOR provides Remote Mirror and Replication features
out of the box. With the VSTOR Remote Mirror/Remote Replication
features, block data is continuously replicated from VSTOR,
to secondary storage, across any distance, without disrupting
enterprise operations or causing downtime. To reduce network
usage and storage utilizations, VSTOR sends only changed
data blocks to your disaster recovery storage.
◆ Multi-Protocol
Storage Gateway
The VSTOR is a network-based solution designed to provide
heterogeneous access to iSCSI, InfiniBand, Fibre Channel
data sources. The gateway can help you make the most of
the virtualization capability across your existing storage
infrastructure to support an expanded set of business
applications. With VSTOR gateway, organization can easily
convert iSCSI, InfiniBand, Fibre Channel data sources
into NAS, iSCSI, InfiniBand or Fibre Channel.
◆ Storage
Virtualization
VSTOR Advanced Storage Virtualization technology allows
you to take full advantage of the system capacity by treating
the entire RAID system as a contiguous pool of storage.
This storage pool can then be apportioned into several
virtual disks without needing to rebuild RAID sets. A
system administrator can then easily create, delete, mirror
coy and modify volumes at a high level of granularity
without worrying about the configuration of the physical
drives. Severs can be assigned precisely the right amount
of storage required – ensuring the most optimum utilization
of your storage resources.
◆ Multi-Path
I/O
In order to reduce the downtime caused by bad cables,
broken switches, adapters and controllers, VSTOR supports
redundant physical path connections to hosts. In the event
that one or more of these components fails, causing the
path to fail, multi-path logic uses an alternate path
for I/O so that applications can still access their data
in VSTOR.
