Galactic Make New Breakthrough in Surveillance System

Electric Power Co. needed to develop a video surveillance system, using high-tech information technology, to further improve the management and maintenance of electric power system, build a secure and reliable modern power system. The video surveillance system has about 300 cameras providing all-weather supervision, using video server mode and 2CIF format. Data will be stored for 15 days. According to Electric Power company¡¯s needs and national technology standards, Galactic developed the design based on the following principles:

The Electric Power surveillance system adopted Galactic VSTOR S316IN system for centralized data storage and processing. VSTOR storage system is a high performance system independently developed by Galactic, able to support multiple host channels. S316IN's IP-SAN storage system has integrated dual hosts using Intel 64-bit storage controller, supports up to 8GB high speed memory, easily meets the needs of data processing for 300 cameras. Standard configuration has two 1000Mbps Ethernet ports, supporting i-SCSI protocol, and can expand up to eight Ethernet ports, to provide a bundled 8GB IP-SAN channel. It also supports NAS protocol and provides file transfer service, hence protects customer's investment to the maximum extent. S316IN has 16 hot-plug SAS hard drive slots, with SAS and SATA hard drive compatibility. With 1 TB SATA hard drive, the maximum capacity of a single cabinet can reach 16 TB, and is expandable by connecting to expansion cabinet, satisfying Shaanxi Electric Power's needs for large capacity storage system.
